Ellen Jonkers, originally from The Netherlands, moved to the US in her mid 20's. She was a true entrepreneur, owning and operating natural foods stores, interior design stores, art galleries and many other fun adventures, since the late 70's.  She was a world traveler, an adventurer, a role model, an inspiration and one of the kindness people you could ever meet.  She passed away in 2011 and will be missed more than the world. She has left the community with a legacy that would make her so proud if she could see Roots today!  Her experience and outlook on life brought Roots Natural Foods to life in 2002 and we are so happy to carry Roots on in her honor!
